New Food Trailer Has Arrived
By: Vice President Sean Guschke,
Date: July 20, 2006
On July 15, 2006 the new food trailer finally arrived just slightly behind schedule. The new trailer replaces a home built trailer the department has used for 20 plus years. Custom Concessions out of Petersburg, Virginia was contracted to build the trailer that will serve as a multifunction piece of equipment. The trailer has all new food service grade equipment including 3 double deep fat fryers, a 6 burner commercial stove and oven, 36” griddle, 2 stand up freezers, and a drink cooler/refrigerator. In the near future the department will have Pepsi install 2 bar gun stations so we can serve soda out of the trailer. The main purpose of the food trailer is fundraising at events such as our annual carnival, Pig Roast, and some new ventures we are looking into. With new capabilities come new possibilities including the unit being able to be used at large scale incidents, natural disasters, and even a rehab unit or command unit. The new food trailer will be lettered, striped, and designated as a special unit.
