It is with deep regret, and a heavy heart, SMFD announces the sudden death of Past President Bob Traynelis. Bob joined the department in January 2011, and quickly became an active member. He served on the Board of Trustees, became President in 2013, and served on many committees.
Bob had a passion for two things within the department- woodworking, and constructing items to spruce up the department, and cooking/baking for his fellow department members. If you knew Bob well, then you knew when he heard the words "working fire" he would be showing up at the department to cook a gourmet meal. It didn't matter what time, day or night, he was just a short drive away.
Bob will be greatly missed by the members of SMFD, along with the surrounding departments in the County, as well as the community. On behalf of the department, our deepest sympathies go out to Bob's wife, Mary Sue. We offer her our thoughts, prayers, and well wishes during this difficult time.
